Sharp launch Blu-ray disc with 100GB
It was known that the Blu-ray had a future expansion capabilities. Currently you can find Blu-ray market of 25 and 50 gigabytes, but has recently been confirmed BDXL standard, which extends those values to 100 and 128 GB respectively. In response to this new standard, the people of Sharp is already planning on releasing an album BDXL later this month, the Japanese market will be the first to receive the affection of these super discs.

BDXL The new format has two versions, 3.0 and 4.0. Version 3.0 allows the creation of “recordable” with capacities of 100 and 128 GB. On the other hand, BDXL version 4.0 enables the creation of records “rewritable” 100 GB capacity. In recognition of the new standard, the people of Sharp plans to launch BDXL disks in the Japanese market for next July 30. The estimated price of each disc is located at $ 57, and still no official announcement indicating a possible land availability outside Japan. At the same time, Sharp will be launching two new devices, model BD-recorder and a reader HDW700 BD-HDW70, both compatible with the new format.
